I read this quote from Theodore Roosevelt recently in my new favourite book about productivity – the 5AM Club and it came at the perfect time.
“Comparison is the thief of joy.”
One of my clients had been sending me links to her competition. This constant comparison to others caused her to doubt whether she should go ahead with her idea.
Then during a consultation, another woman confessed that she was jealous of a friend whose husband provided financial support while business was slow. She had to do it all on her own and thought about going back into employment to ride out the storm.
